MEGA888 security

A familiar logo is not enough. Check the address and the Android package before you install or sign in.

Before you continue

  1. 1

    Read the full address

Look at the domain, not only the logo. Short links can hide a different website.

  2. 2

    Match the task you started

If you opened Android download, iPhone setup, or login, the next screen should still match that.

  3. 3

    Stop on extra prompts

Unexpected payment, identity, or accessibility requests are a reason to close the page.

Warning signs

  • A message or advert uses a lookalike name and tells you to install immediately.
  • The file asks you to disable Play Protect, ignore an iOS warning, or install a second unknown app first.
  • Someone requests your password, one-time code, or a photo of your ID in chat.
  • A bonus, test ID, or “agent” is the only reason you are asked to switch websites.
  • The file is not version 10.11 or the package is not com.mega888.group, and the sender tells you to ignore that.

Do not share

Keep these private

  • Passwords
  • SMS or email one-time codes
  • Recovery answers
  • Photos of identity documents sent to an unknown contact

What to do instead

  • Close the unexpected page.
  • Go back to the Android, iPhone, or login page you meant to use.
  • Change a password only after the suspicious session is closed.

If you already clicked a bad link

Leave the page. Do not finish an install. Do not send a code “to cancel”. If you typed a password, change it after that session is closed.
